District hires new solicitor

The Penn-Trafford School District has a new solicitor.

The school board unanimously hired the firm of Maiello, Brungo and Maiello as the new solicitor at its Monday night meeting.

The district will pay a monthly fee of $775, and an hourly rate of $95 for work that is not covered under the retainer.

The Penn Hills firm will replace Kenneth Murray, who served as the district's solicitor for 30 years. He announced his resignation last month.

The district paid Murray an $800 monthly retainer.

Maiello, Brungo and Maiello currently represents North Allegheny, Norwin and Uniontown Area school districts. The firm also has worked with Penn Hills, Steel Valley and Yough school districts.
