Four members of the Gateway Newspapers staff received Spotlight Awards from the Keystone State Pro Chapter of Society of Professional Journalists on Saturday at the Pennsylvania Press Conference at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel in State College.

Robert Weible, Gateway assistant editor, received second-place honors for his headline "Sparred for life," which was published in the Times Express.

Photographer Chris DiSabato received a third-place award for his "Fighting 'til the finish" photo, which was published in the Times Express.

Heidi Dezayas, staff writer for the Penn-Trafford Star, received an honorable mention in the health and medical reporting category for her story entitled "Diet helps to dramatically reduce local girl's seizures."

And Zandy Dudiak, feature writer, Times Express, was awarded an honorable mention for enterprise reporting for her "Becoming American" series. She also received an honorable mention in the environmental reporting category for her story entitled "Man, as well as nature, to blame for flooding problems."
