Wayne Brentzel
Retired vice president of Irwin Bank & Trust

Wayne J. Brentzel of Harrison City, a retired vice president of Irwin Bank & Trust Co. who was involved in several fraternal and community organizations, died May 10, 2008, in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 66.

Mr. Brentzel was born July 5, 1941, in Greensburg to John Vincent and Vivian Gorsuch Brentzel.

He was a member of Jeannette Lodge 750 of the Free and Accepted Masons, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh, and Syria Temple, Pittsburgh. He also was a past president of the Bushy Run Lions Club, and he received the Melvin Jones Award from Lions International.

Mr. Brentzel was a former member of Norwin Rotary, a Paul Harris Fellow and a former member of the board of directors of the United Way of Westmoreland County. He was a charter board member and treasurer of Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor.

A 1959 graduate of Norwin High School, he was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Irwin, where he served as president of church council.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Macormac Brentzel; children, Brian (and wife, Janet) Brentzel of York, S.C., Holli (and husband, David) Jubec of Mt. Pleasant and Jonathan and Kimberly Brentzel, both at home; grandchildren, Chelsea, Tyler, Mackenzie and Linnea.

Friends and family were received at William Snyder Funeral Home, Irwin. A service was held in Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bruce Brunkhorst officiating. Interment was at Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon.

Joseph Mazzoni Sr.
Westinghouse retiree

Joseph A. Mazzoni Sr. of Irwin, a retiree of the Westinghouse Electric plant in East Pittsburgh, died May 7, 2008. He was 94.

Born March 19, 1914, in Lake Village, Ark., he lived in Braddock, Wilkinsburg and Swissvale before moving to Sunrise Estates in Irwin in 1964. Mr. Mazzoni worked for Westinghouse for 33 years. He was a member of Jeannette Senior Center and Level Green Seniors. He attended St. Regis Catholic Church in Trafford.

He is survived by his sons, Joseph Jr. of Pittsburgh and James (and wife, Marge) Mazzoni of St. Paul, Minn.; a sister, Mary Wessel; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Minnie Ellen Emerson; a sister and four brothers.

Friends were received at Jobe Funeral Home Inc., Turtle Creek. Mass of Christian Burial was in St. Colman Catholic Church. Interment was at Braddock Catholic Cemetery.

Julia Bartolomucci
Former office manager

Julia U. Nagoda Bartolo-mucci of Penn Township, a homemaker and former office manager of ARBCO Indus-tries for more than 30 years, died May 7, 2008. She was 98.

Mrs. Bartolomucci was born Jan. 28, 1910, in Export to Frank and Ursula Hriber Nagoda.

She is survived by her children; Gerald (and wife, Marielle) Bartolomucci of Ex-port, Geraldine (and husband, Johnnie) Johnson Foster of Old Lyme, Conn., and Eileen Bartolomucci of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Gina Burkett, Jim Bartolomucci, Karen Feisullin and Laura Bartolomucci-James; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Bartolomucci; four sisters, Mary Sever, Angela Ahacic, Cecilia Collins, Rose Metelko; and four brothers Frank, Louis, Albert and John Nagoda.

Friends and family were received at Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home Inc., Export. Mass was in St. Barbara Church, Harrison City, with His Excellency The Most Rev. Anthony G. Bosco, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Greensburg as celebrant. Entombment was at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
