Michael Ratica
Westinghouse retiree
Michael J. Ratica of Trafford, a retired spring maker for Westinghouse Electric's East Pittsburgh plant, died May 3, 2008, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was 87.
Mr. Ratica was born Aug. 17, 1920, in Penn Township to Michael and Anna Warsack Ratica. He was a member of Church of the Immaculate Conception in Irwin and its Holy Name Society.
Mr. Ratica had a passion for farming, and he loved animals.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Schneider; two brothers, Elmer and Albert Ratica; and his parents.
Friends were received at Joseph F. Ott Funeral Home Inc., Irwin.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Church of the Immaculate Conception. Interment was at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
The family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Pet Adoption League, 152 Spring St., Yukon, PA 15698.
Mildred Gligonic
Former Trafford resident
Former Trafford resident Mildred Zemleduck Gligonic died May 1, 2008. She was 90.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Gligonic; a sister, Ann Grossman; and brothers, Steve, Paul and John Zemleduck.
She is survived by her sons, Paul (and wife, Jennifer) Gligonic and David (and Anncelene) Gligonic; her grandchildren, Christopher Gligonic, Amber Patterson and Ryan Gligonic; and her sisters, Stella Thompson and Mary Hegland.
Friends and family were received at Alfieri Funeral Home Inc. in Wilmerding. Divine Liturgy was held in Holy Trinity Byzantine Church, Wall.
