Several Penn-Trafford teachers and staff were honored at Monday night's school board meeting with Pride Awards, which are given out by the school district.

Winners of the 24th annual individual pride awards were: Charles Baumgarner, second grade teacher at Level Green Elementary; Amy Kelly, third grade teacher at Level Green Elementary; Tom Donohoe, seventh and eighth grade teacher at Penn Middle School; and Rick Steele, a teacher at Penn Middle and Penn-Trafford High School.

This is the second year the district gave out team awards.

Recipients of this award were: Melissa Vovaris and Dannielle Lebe of the Level Green kindergarten inclusionary team; Janna Belavic, Christine Chesky and Jaclyn Freas of the Level Green first grade team; Michelle Stewart, Noell Thorton, Ncki Todd, Janice Ruoff, Rick Baugh and Nichole Popovich of the Trafford Middle School team; Kelly Podkul, Sarah Holden, Terry Tomasic, Deja Barton, Lynda Risnear and Elissa DeBiase of the Penn Middle School READ 180 team; and Pat Blahovek, Jenn Galando and Larry Cooper of the sports medicine team.

The teams received a poster and trophy that will travel next year to the next winners of the award.
