Rossilynne Skena of Penn Township won a $5,000 scholarship for outstanding collegiate journalism from The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania

Skena is a sophomore at Penn State, where she is the campus editor of the Daily Collegian newspaper.

A former intern with the Penn-Trafford Star, she currently is interning with the Valley News Dispatch.

Skena was honored at the 44th annual Golden Quills Awards banquet, which took place Monday night at the Pittsburgh Hilton and Towers, Downtown.
